Teach Financial Education with an App
Abstract: Financial literacy is a topic that has become a large focus for many after the most recent financial crisis, which occurred from 2007 to 2009. To reduce future reoccurrences and to fill the gap in financial literacy, some teachers (in schools and other institutions) are providing financial education for individuals. By searching several databanks of tools and resources for teachers, the author found that often these programs involve role playing and other paper-based curricula but in some instances, teachers are using educational technology options. Many of these technology-based options are available in the form of mobile based applications. This paper explores one of these mobile applications that can be used to teach students about paying bills, bank accounts and other financial topics.
