Discourse Practice of Computational Thinking

Abstract: This paper provides a snapshot of a teacher’s discourse practice while facilitating a group of two students in a computational thinking infused robotic activity while completing a task. The interactions between the teacher and her students have shown various aspects and practices of computational thinking for elementary students. In addition, sequences of experiences that are considered practices of computational thinking are described to emphasize that teachers are the designers of those experiences.
