The purpose of this brief paper is to review a study-in-progress that examines the reactions of preservice teachers to the use of robotic telepresence for early field experiences in their Master of Arts in Teaching program. Since early field experiences are found to have positive impact on teacher development, but are challenging to orchestrate given logistical hurdles, it is important for teacher educators to leverage new technologies that might overcome obstacles and provide classroom exposure. This study seeks to determine any significant benefits from attending early field experiences through the use of robotic telepresence.
