Abstract: The purpose of this research is to explore undergraduate students’ perception of engagement or why students’ do not look up from the screen in two different classroom spaces. While more and more traditional classrooms have computers (personal laptops or computer labs) in schools and universities, instructors strive to implement active learning strategies that increases interaction and engagement in learning. Yet, the design of computer lab classroom suggests individualized student work at the computer and interactive classrooms have various technology available to students.
