Abstract: The Japanese government conducted curriculum reform to integrate computer science into its informatics education and will implement it by 2020 at the elementary level. There is a growing need for research in this field to deliver effective teaching. This research extracted learning goals from empirical studies of computer science education from Japan and other countries at the elementary level and inductively classified the learning goals into nine categories.
