Abstract: One of the most difficult things teachers in special education find about their jobs is managing challenging behaviors, which often leads to them leaving after a brief stint in the classroom (Conroy, Akter, Boyd, & Bettini 2014). The lack of preparation can lead to low confidence level in teacher ability to manage challenging behaviors. This study aims to provide a better understanding of what may be contributing to special education teachers' confidence levels in managing challenging behaviors. The study used a survey design.
