Abstract: Learning is not simply getting the right answer on a test. Neural networks are developed through trial and error, and hence brain-based assessment, which provides more experimentation and feedback opportunities might lead to better quality of learning. As with teaching strategies, effective teachers strive to use an appropriate variety of assessment techniques keeping in mind their students’ needs. This paper will equip participants with some of these assessment techniques. The paper has three parts: The first part will give an overview of the various brain functions and processes involved in learning as well as recent studies about attention and memory. ...
