Abstract: Recruitment strategies vary widely and are unique for distance programs. With demands for increased enrollment, faculty are often under pressure to increase the number of applicants by recruiting, a skill that has often not been included in the course of their training. Recruiting for graduate distance programs often involves considering the workload that many potential students already have due to full-time employment commitments, considering alternative recruiting methods for reaching diverse populations, and planning in advance for recruiting sessions.
