Abstract: When people think of their favorite teacher and the characteristics of these teachers, ethics often is not on the list. Yet, ethics plays a critical role in the personal and professional development of teachers and school counselors. This paper will discuss how a small private Catholic university prepares pre-service teachers and school counselors that build on Otero’s framework for technology integration and various theories of moral development. Students are provided real world scenarios that include ethical dilemmas and technological solutions to assist in professional practices. This paper will include example assignments such as the Technology Teacher Toolbox, Netiquette activities, case study scenarios regarding student communication and social media, confidentiality, assessment practices, and professional dispositions.
