Abstract: Providing a rich technological environment at the UAE’s higher education level, the government decided to fully integrate online evaluation tool in all courses. Online evaluation using the Blackboard learning management system presented challenges and opportunities to both faculty and learners in assessing debating, creative writing, critical thinking and assessing higher order learning skills in humanities courses in general, and history courses specifically. This paper explores the use of Online Evaluation (OE) with Peer Instruction (PI) in four sophomore classes of 98 non-English native students, and how the teacher integrated this technology into the assessment.
