Abstract: This paper firstly discusses reciprocity, which is a foundation of learners’ community, from the viewpoint of social capital and exchange-styles, and points out difficulties of mutual and reciprocal teaching/helping by students in classroom activities. Secondly, the authors propose a method to enhance social capital in learning groups. Thirdly, we describe the development of AssociatingBoard, which is a Web-based system that is designed to help mutual-helping activity based on based on the concept of “bi-directional sense of debt”
