This paper examines the need for fully integrated, meaningful use of information and communication technology (ICT) in teacher preparation programs. To strengthen pre-service teachers’ application of technological and pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK), teacher education programs can use the technology acceptance model (TAM) to facilitate students’ positive perceptions of technology usage in the classroom, and thereby have a greater impact on pre-service teachers’ intention and ability to effectively use ICT for teaching and learning in their own classrooms.
