Abstract: The purpose of this brief paper is to offer critical reflections and lessons learned from the ongoing development of a flipped classroom. This flipped classroom is designed to instruct, remediate, and provide enrichment opportunities for low-level readers enrolled in a 6th-grade general science course. Furthermore, it provides opportunities for university and school district collaboration through the use of differentiated instruction and collaborative teaching experiences with technology. Other aspects discussed include best practices for online instructional design and collaborative partnerships between K12 schools and universities.
