A Preservice Teacher’s Teaching and Learning Experiences in an Online Teaching Environment
This qualitative case study investigated a preservice teacher’s teaching and learning experiences while teaching Spanish as a foreign language (FL) in an online context. The participant was an English as a second language (ESL) preservice teacher in the United States. The findings indicated the participant’s diverse experiences of teaching and learning in the online educational context. In addition, several factors influenced the participant’s experiences: (a) technology competency, (b) diverse technology issues, (c) motivation, and (d) teaching methods and pedagogy. Furthermore, diverse educational implications of adopting online platform in teacher education are discussed.
