Abstract: Teacher education providers have a central role to play in supporting pre-service teachers develop the knowledge and skills to use ICT in their practice. In Australia an increasing regulatory environment suggests that teacher education providers need to design programs that target the attainment of specific ICT professional standards. One area that pre-service teachers can experiment with and apply their ICT skills and knowledge is within the placement component of their programs.
