Abstract: Early care and education/child care program directors/administrators play a foundational role in the quality of programing provided to the children enrolled This would include making decisions about the purchase and use of technology as part of and in support of the curriculum for the children Even though questions remain about how much screen time is appropriate, there are strong forces for including technology in the curriculum However, the professional requirements for individuals in these program leadership positions spans a very broad range, and many may not have the background necessary to make effective choices for This session will explore a framework for making administrative decisions about curriculum-based technology and recommendations for how this might be incorporated in professional development activities The framework focuses on 5 aspects: developmentally appropriate, cost, infrastructure, policies and procedures, and hardware/software
