Story in Interdisciplinary and STEM Contexts: for Problem-Solving

Abstract: Preservice and inservice K-12 educators participated in a pilot study that incorporated digital story creation to build STEM and interdisciplinary content knowledge Prior to completing their STEM-based narrative, the teachers developed their story through graphic advance organizers These digital tools scaffolded the teachers development of a factual STEM story Findings from the study indicated an improvement in identifying story components, increased STEM content knowledge, and knowledge of advanced organizers for problem-solving In this presentation, the story organizers used to scaffold story structure will be shared
