This paper will present the results of an in-depth exploration into the common practices of technology integration in social studies in the K12 classroom Results from the investigation will be drawn from both practicing teachers and preservice teachers Particular emphasis will look at which technologies are most popular, which are perceived to be making the most difference, and relationships/divergences between practicing and pre-service teachers The findings from this in-depth study will then be juxtaposed with the research-base on cognition and provide directions for future research
