Share Paper: Digital Competencies for Teachers: Where We Are and Where We Need to Be

Abstract: This paper reports on an analysis of some of the current international, national, and state digital competencies recommended for teachers The author used a qualitative exploratory approach and constant comparative analysis to discern distinct focus areas across the competencies, as well as to identify deficiencies within the standards based on emerging technologies and skillsets Recommendations are made for additional teacher skills, dispositions, and mindsets that should be addressed within the frameworks to ensure that teachers are prepared to equip all students for success in today’s digital world
