Share Paper: Using FlipGrid with K12 STEM Teachers: Successes and Challenges

Abstract: Utilizing video reflection to refine pedagogy and content delivery is powerful for both pre-service and in-service K12 teachers After introduction to Flipgrid at SITE 2017, two researchers engaged over 100 pre-service and in-service teachers with the video recording technology The teachers participated though outreach professional development and coursework in 2017 The teachers showcased what they learned and how they teach via the videos Researchers analyzed the videos by watching the presentations and recording themes The videos could be connected with more than one theme Findings show the themes identified included: 1) Content (STEM) discussion, 2) Pedagogy discussion, 3) Technology discussion, ...
