Abstract: One-to-one laptop initiatives are growing increasingly ubiquitous in the United States and, with a hefty price tag accompanying those initiatives, stakeholders appreciate knowing that they are getting their money's worth when instituting such initiatives. While recent research has demonstrated significant academic gains in one-to-one students, the initiatives have also been promoted as builders of 21st century skills, including communication, collaboration, and IT literacy.
