Abstract: In a world filled with pervasive inequalities, bridging technology and education offers tangible visions of hope. The effects of socioeconomic, racial and gender inequalities on educational outcomes merits our immediate attention. Teacher education programs must help candidates develop the knowledge and skills necessary to build and sustain inclusive learning environments. Educators must be prepared for increasingly diverse classrooms situated in today’s global society. Multimodal technological platforms provide viable pathways to affirm diversity and expand teaching and learning opportunities for diverse P-20 learners. This interactive presentation will provide examples of how integrating technology into the curriculum can advance intercultural learning, affirm diversity and promote inclusion. Multimedia tools and practical resources will be shared, along with ideas on how P-12 schools and universities around the world can collaborate through technology to advance educational equity.
