Abstract: Flipped instruction is an inverted model of teaching where students interact with content independently then spend classroom time engaged in hands-on activities that extend knowledge (Mok, 2014). A majority of the evidence base for flipped instruction is focused on classrooms, and a gap in the literature exits in applying this model to professional development, suggesting a need for further study in this area (Noren, & Berge, 2014). Based on encouraging outcomes in flipped classrooms and a call for more research in using the flipped instructional model for professional development, this study was developed.
