Abstract: In our panel presentation, we will provide our approaches on providing the targeted and just-in-time professional preparation and development to pre-service and in-service teachers in teacher education programs on the topic of using making approach as a pedagogy. Teacher educators from different institutions and teacher education programs will share the successes, challenges, and lessons learned during the processes of modeling an inclusive and productive making pedagogy. Special considerations to contextual factors will also be taken into the discussion of the topics. After the panelists shared their perspectives on the subject of Makerspace and Teacher Education, we will invite the audience to ask questions and discuss with us. We will also collaborate with our audience to brainstorm on the curricula, tools, strategies, and activities that utilize the making approach in teacher education programs and future directions and collaborations for research and practices.
