Teaching and Learning with Smart Board Technology in the Elementary Classroom

Abstract: The study investigates the effect of using SMART Board technology on mathematics achievement among fifth grade students. A study sample of (40) students was selected from the fifth grade. The sample was divided into two groups. The experimental group (randomly chosen) studied Mathematics using the SMART Board; the control group studied mathematics using traditional methods and board. The instrument of the study was an achievement test which was used to measure mathematics achievement of the students. Data analysis used T-test for independent samples revealed a positive effect of using SMART Board on students` mathematics achievement.
