Abstract: Technology appears to be everywhere with smart phones and tablets, but how is it being used in the classroom? What are the benefits and challenges of using mobile learning in the classroom? This paper will discuss how a small private Catholic university prepares pre-service teachers to incorporate technology into the pre-K-12 classroom that focus on Otero’s framework for technology integration. This paper will include example assignments such as the Technology Teacher Toolbox, which highlights applications and websites used to assist in creating lesson plans, rubrics, teaching and differentiating instruction. In the assignment pre-service teachers also align lessons and activities to the curriculum standards as well as evaluate the effectiveness of the applications and websites for Ipad integration into the classroom.
