Abstract: App Ed Review is research-based product for teachers who are implementing blended learning lessons using educational apps. App Ed Review features a searchable database of app reviews for all K-12 subject area. Each review includes an original app description, 3-5 instructional ideas for using the app, and a comprehensive app evaluation. The database’s app classification system and evaluation rubric have each been published in scholarly journals. In addition, App Ed Review offers teachers several dozen app-based lessons and a curated list of videos and articles. These resources are intended to be scaffolds teachers can use as springboards for designing and implementing blended learning lessons in their classrooms that use mobile devices. Embedded in both the instructional ideas and app-based lessons are methods for building students’ disciplinary literacy and higher-order thinking skills, which helps make App Ed Review the leading authority on educational apps.
