Virtual Brief Paper
ID: 48747
Abstract: This study is an investigation of the relationships between approaches in video games and academic success, as measured by GPA. A questionnaire was given to 181 undergraduate students asking questions about video game play preferences and problem-solving approaches, as well as questions about academics. A regression analysis shows relationships between certain video game preferences and strategies and GPA. In general, the game preferences and strategies that emphasize following the rules relate to higher GPA.
