Abstract: Implicit Cognitive Vulnerability theory emphasizes the cognitive vulnerability and cognitive dissonance realized by learners throughout the learning process. The learning process embraces a recognition of the needs associated with working with the subject matter, from basic knowledge understanding and focusing upon a progressive attainment of new and different ways towards working with the information that results in higher order thinking skills of evaluation and creating. Within this progressive learning process, the efforts of the instructional facilitator and the learner engage is a supportive mentor-apprentice approach with a resulting support system that strives towards the learner’s knowledge attainment and ability to work with information in new and progressively more complex manners of being and understanding.
