Abstract: In a recent investigation of learning in a midwestern school district, researchers used focus groups, video conferencing and social media to explore the question, "What if school was invented today?". The study lasted seven months and included the voices of more than 70 stakeholders. This presentation discusses the ways in which technologies such as social media and video conferencing supported the design based research that characterized the study.
