Making Waves, Treading Water or Sitting in the Sand: Understanding the Experience of First Year Social Studies Teachers Educational Technology Development and Implementation
Abstract: Looking to understand the implementation of social studies technology education during the first year of teaching, research was conducted on five participants. Utilizing semi-structured interviews, data was collected and analyzed using a grounded theory approach, developing themes for a further discussion and examination of the teachers’ conceptual development of technology use in the classroom while implementing their college preparation to do so. Results are presented in regards to teachers making waves, treading water, or sitting in the sand as far as their technology implementation is concerned.
