Abstract: As educators, we are faced with new and exciting technological times. Our pedagogies and philosophies change to ensure the most authentic and engaging practice. One of the ways to enrich a curriculum is to incorporate QR codes (Quick Response Codes). QR codes can be easily incorporated into parts of the academic day that include Reading and Writing Workshop. By adding a layer of technology, students will actively engage in the lessons as they tap into their kinesthetic learning style. Using QR codes within Reading and Writing Workshops will give students a voice as they interact with texts. Increased engagement in the reading and writing process will lead to more proficient readers and writers. Kinesthetic learners will benefit from this active engagement while using 21st century technology.
