Abstract: This is a broadly conceived panel that discusses the possibilities of using various web resources and applications in secondary classrooms. Jason Friedman will discuss his use of Diigo--a web tool that annotates, collates, and gathers web-based materials--in high school social studies classrooms. Matt Duncan will discuss the use of various technologies to help promote an autonomous classroom (this can apply to many disciplines, but it is especially useful in ELL classrooms). Ted Mitchell will discuss the importance of integrating history and geography, and explain how Google Earth, ESRI StoryMaps, and Locacious can help teachers accomplish this.
