Abstract: The rapid advancement of learning technologies has brought a myriad of research on the implications of the technology on online postsecondary education. Researchers are particularly concerned about the social and educational inequalities associated with the increasing reliance of the learning technologies. This paper examines the inequalities in online education. The author begins by reviewing research on the use and impact of learning technologies in U.S. higher education.
