Abstract: A “Beginner Robotics for STEM Teaching” professional development program was offered to 20 math and science teachers in 2014. The program provided long-term, sustained high quality learning opportunities to Arkansas teachers, especially those in high need Local Educational Agencies. Participants were trained to integrate robotics into STEM-related curriculum that aligns with Arkansas and the National Research Council’s Science Standards, and they went through a 60 hour training during which they built and programed robots through a collaborative and experiential learning program integrating concepts from various disciplines.
