Abstract: This paper relates to the use of computer-based instruction for the purposes of employee training. Through a review of previous studies, the author seeks to identify key elements that may positively or negatively affect the impact that computer-based training (CBT) has on job performance and overall learning outcomes. Through comparisons between computer-based instruction (CBI) and face-to-face instruction (FTFI), employee training methods are analyzed and future research ideas are discussed which might further examine the necessary aspects of a successful computer-based training initiative.
