Abstract: Results of an 18-month study on 3D printing. It is both a field report of digital fabrication in a post-secondary education setting and the introduction of a general curriculum outline for teaching design and fabrication using commercial available 3D printing devices. The differences among specific activities divided into three categories print trials, design experiments and engineering tests are explained and their unique significance in teaching and learning is discussed.
