Abstract: Digital storytelling continues to be a unique and innovative way for individuals to express themselves and their understanding of the world around them. This study examines how undergraduate teacher education candidates, enrolled in an immersive learning program located in a culturally and economic diverse community, used digital storytelling to articulate their knowledge and understanding about the community. Stories express personal and professional growth as candidates came to understand the values of community knowledge and culturally relevant pedagogy in educating children.
