Abstract: This best practice session is based on 3 years of professional development with social studies educators from a variety of professional contexts. The online synchronous course was delivered through a Library of Congress Teaching Primary Sources program to participants from the eastern United States. This session describes the development of our online program and lessons learned about our use of digital tools and online pedagogical practices based on an analysis of course materials, presenter and participant reflections, and samples of both participant products and subsequent student work products.
