Facilitation of Your Success When Implementing Technology in Schools K-12
Abstract: Attendees are introduced to a facilitation methodology (i.e. Blended Facilitation) for collecting ideas, defining tasks, and implementing technology programs. This Round Table emphasizes tools, methods, and communication techniques. The Blended Facilitation incorporates: the Institute of Cultural Affairs’ ToP Participatory Strategic Planning event; Robert Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction to give the facilitator a practice that supports adult learning; and, Facilitation at a Glance, Goal QPC. The facilitator models asking critical questions, brainstorming, and clustering ideas. A fictitious case study is assigned to each group. One or two members can serve as facilitator(s). Each group generates a planning event that includes a practical vision, focus question, brainstorming, and SMART. After the group work with the assigned scenario, each group briefly reports on their implementation plan. The Facilitator entertains questions and provides a summary of the methodology.
