Abstract: Much of the research surrounding technology in the Geography curriculum focuses on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geographic Positioning System (GPS) units. Studies have examined how these tools can benefit student learning, however GIS can be difficult to learn, and GPS can be cost prohibitive. This study investigates the use of the video game Minecraft as a virtual world to teach students geography concepts.
