Attitudes Toward and Use of iPads in a College of Education One-to-One Program
Abstract: This paper overviews data collected from the first semester of a one-to-one iPad project at a College of Education in the Southwest United States. The authors will discuss the overall structure of the program and data collected to address two research questions: (a) How did participating in the iPad project affect preservice teachers’ self-efficacy and attitudes regarding teaching and learning with mobile devices?, and (b) How were students using mobile devices for learning, for teaching, and for personal purposes? Results of data analysis provided us with valuable formative feedback which will benefit our project and those of others looking to deploy similar mobile learning initiatives in teacher education programs.
