Abstract: The implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) requires a multifaceted approach that must move beyond theory to include application. Two faculty members working with pre-service educators during field experience courses investigated the use of UDL Exchange (www.udlexchange.cast.org), an online, UDL supported lesson planning tool as a method for enhancing the quality of teacher candidate lesson plans. Data analysis yielded results that describe how the use of the online tool positively impacted the way teacher candidates applied the UDL framework and integrated technology into their formal lesson plans.
