Abstract: The purpose of this introduction is to link the symposium theme to literature and its significance for the field of information technology and education. The researchers will share theoretical underpinnings, empirical research and experiential knowledge on the emergence of solution-oriented research, which is rooted in action-oriented research featuring mixed methods designs and innovative digital technology. A selected group of five Drexel University Educational Leadership and Management doctoral scholars/future faculty and administrators will present exemplar action-oriented, mixed methods, multidisciplinary research and the outcomes derived from their dissertations that reached a combined total of over 3,000 participants.
