Abstract: This paper reports findings from an American graduate-level course on the topic of writing and technology taught via study abroad in England. The course was structured to introduce twenty-four teachers across the content areas to writing in various modes via the discourse scheme of Moffett (1962) (e.g., expressive, poetic, expository). In addition, teachers learned to use dozens of Web-based tools (e.g., Google Maps, ToonDoo, Prezi, Glogster) to integrate their written works with photographs and videos they collected on excursions to literary and historical sites in England.
