Abstract: One of the first steps in using a social justice lens in educating students is not necessarily to introduce them to the various tenets or philosophy, but rather utilize examples in society to provide real-world applications to the subject. In a secondary classroom, it is essential for students to explore and engage in self-discovery; when considering social justice, this can be facilitated through the use of critical pedagogy.
