Abstract: In a “time” of technological change, institutions of higher education need to respond to the instructional teaching and learning challenges instructors face when they teach online courses. This is a report on a qualitative study conducted with college of education faculty at a large state university in the Southeast. The purpose of the study was to examine how university professors learned to teach online, identify what they learned about teaching online over time, and identify best practices in learning to teach online.
