Abstract: Of the various challenges faced by adult learners in higher learning institutions, writing is one challenge that has the potential to negatively affect learners’ overall academic success. Traditionally, methods for instructing writing have focused primarily on administering writing essays, quizzes, and proficiency exams. While many courses often offer helpful practice exercises, assignments, and tasks developed to help learners’ writing progress, historically, instructional methods have ignored the role computer technology can play in contributing to learners’ writing enhancement (McLoughlin and Lee, 2007; Parker and Chao, 2007). The “Employing Technology to Improve Adult Learners’ Writing” offers such an instructional strategy. The purpose of the presentation is to enhance higher educator’s instructional skills by broadening their perspective as they relate to using computer technology to improve student’s writing. The presentation may benefit facilitators of all higher learning disciplines.
