Senior Accessibility to Learning
Abstract: This paper will present a survey of the seniors at three senior centers in the Baltimore area. The goal was to measure senior’s internet use to understand their capability to engage in technology learning activities. This paper will seek to identify the degree to which seniors have engaged in their online presence. In doing so, it will evaluate seniors’ capability to participate in online learning activities. This survey will attempt to measure their online habits and whether or not they see the internet as a tool that can be used to make their lives better. It is also important to understand the accessibility that should be built in to a senior learning initiative to ensure its adoption and success. While seniors may have different age related health problems with manual dexterity and vision; these have not dampened their enthusiasm for adopting an online life.
