Abstract: A study proposal for using free web 2.0 tools in a lesson/unit plan on the Constitution, Federalist papers and American democracy. The paper reviews current social studies literature relating to the use of technology in the social studies classroom, and develops a web-based tool to integrate free web based technology and information into the classroom. The author brings together Prezi as a concept mapping tool, Glogster as an online expression, and the Avalon Project collection of Federalist Papers as knowledge source for a conceptual based learning of how the America Constitution functions. The study proposes a quasi-experimental project to ascertain the influence of web 2.0 tools on students learning.
